Our Brightest Days.

With Our Brightest Days: The Campaign for Realizing Purpose and Leading Change, Wartburg College seeks to make vital investments in campus and community life across three key areas.

Access to Excellence.

Traditionally, nearly 40 percent of Wartburg students come from families with incomes below $100,000, with nearly 70 percent below $150,000. Research confirms many prospective students and their families won’t consider colleges with a sticker cost above $60,000, even though their net cost may be considerably less.

More scholarship support will allow Wartburg to recruit more students like Alysiah Phillips ’27, who is the first in her family to attend college thanks to the Harry and Polly Slife Scholarship.

Knights Experience More.

Experiential learning has long been a hallmark of a Wartburg education, with many alumni considering those experiences to be the most transformative part of their Wartburg journeys. However, more students today are reluctant or unable to take advantage of experiential opportunities as out-of-pocket costs have risen.

With the Knight’s Experience Fund, students like Brandon Goetz ’25 can apply for up to $1,500 to help cover the cost of experiential learning opportunities like study abroad, internships, and service trips.

Student Success Is Key.

Our current technology replacement cycle is too extended to provide a modern classroom experience to our students, and our wellness facilities are beginning to show their age. And as student demographics have shifted and the needs of prospective students have evolved, Wartburg has discovered opportunities to bolster academic support, counseling, and career services.

We’ll upgrade 15 classrooms in the first year of the Classroom Technology Transformation, and we won’t stop until we’ve modernized all 64 of them.

The Community Wellness & Recreation initiative will help us resurface the football field, outdoor track, and indoor track, among other upgrades.

And gifts to the Annual Fund can be spent wherever the college’s need is greatest, supporting every student as they prepare to move out into the wider world.
