November 6, 2024
The Wartburg Players’ fall production, “Almost, Maine,” will Nov. 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the McCaskey Lyceum in the Saemann Student Center.
The show is free to Wartburg students who present a student ID. Tickets will be sold at the door for $10. Ticket sales and donations help support the student-led organization’s mission of making theatre accessible for students through a variety of shows, troupes and events.
“Almost, Maine,” by John Cariani, takes place on a cold and magical winter night in a fictional rural town called Almost, Maine, which never got around to being organized, so it’s “almost” a real place. The story is made up of 10 tales that all take place at the same time over seven minutes on this mystical night. Each scene depicts a different element of love, resulting in a beautiful mosaic of human connection and experience.
The production is directed by students Lennon Schriever and Alyson Hasner.
“’Almost, Maine’ is a beautiful show that will speak to everyone. Love is something that we all experience and this show is a stunning examination of that. I believe every audience member will find something to relate to in this show and find something to take away,” said Schriever.
