Wartburg voice instructor to perform at first Bach’s Lunch of 2024-25

The concert will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Wartburg Chapel. It will be preceded by a noon lunch and conversation with Pfaltzgraff in the Chapel Commons. The program will feature “Festal March” and “Adoration” by Florence B. Price and Elizabeth Turner’s March in D Major.
Rebecca Nederhiser, Wartburg Community Symphony conductor, will join Pfaltzgraff on the oboe for “Schwanenlied” and Clara Schumann’s Romanze no. 2, op. 22.
Pfaltzgraff joined the Wartburg music department in 2008 and regularly assists with the college’s Opera Workshop. She also is the organist and music director at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church in Waterloo. She has performed in Salzburg, Austria; Ohio; Iowa; Minnesota; Colorado; and Canada with her husband, Brian, also a Wartburg vocal instructor. In March 2023, she toured Oklahoma as a recitalist under the sponsorship of the Piatigorsky Foundation.
She graduated from Morningside University with degrees in music education and piano performance. Her master’s degree is from Bowling Green State University in organ performance.
Bach’s Lunch attendees are invited to bring a lunch. The series will continue Oct. 18, Nov. 8, Feb. 14, March 14 and April 11.
