Bankson to perform at Wartburg’s first Bach’s Lunch of 2024

The concert will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Wartburg Chapel. It will be preceded by a noon lunch and conversation with Bankson in the Chapel Commons. The program will feature music arranged by Bankson as well as pieces by Johannes Brahms and J.S. Bach.
At Prince of Peace Church, Bankson leads a dynamic and developing music ministry that includes several choirs and a concert series. Prior to this position, Bankson served at a church in Lincoln, Neb., and was an organ instructor at Hastings College.
Active as a composer and arranger, he has led workshops, clinics and hymn festivals for the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, the Fellowship of American Baptist Musicians, the American Guild of Organists, Augsburg Fortress and other churches and institutions around the country.
Bankson earned a Bachelor of Music from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he also pursued graduate studies in choral conducting.
