MIriam Zach

Miriam Zach, a professor at Iowa State University, will be featured at the Wartburg College Bach’s Lunch organ series recital Friday, Nov. 10.

The concert will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Wartburg Chapel. It will be preceded by a noon lunch and conversation with the organist in the Chapel Commons. Zach is the founding director of the Margaret Zach International Women Composers’ Library in Gainesville, Fla., and her program will feature pieces by female composers from the U.S., France, Sweden, Hungary, England and Germany.

Zach teaches organ, harpsichord and music history at Iowa State. She serves as dean of the Central Iowa American Guild of Organists andas the director of music and organist at St. John’s Episcopal Church.

After earning degrees from Northwestern University and the University of Chicago, she lived in Europe for five years while studying organ with Jobst Hermann Koch.

Bach’s Lunch attendees are invited to bring a lunch. The series will continue Feb. 9, March 8 and April 12.
