A Wartburg College German-language film series continues Tuesday, Feb. 9, with a showing of “Almanya.”

The film, which will be screened with English subtitles, begins at 7:15 p.m. in Whitehouse Business Center Room 116. It is the third of four films that will be shown as part of the “Crossing Boundaries with German Film” series.

“Almanya” is a tragicomedy that follows three generations of a Turkish-German immigrant family as they journey across intergenerational and cultural divides. The film won 2011 German Film Prizes for best script and best film.

Students will introduce the films and lead discussions following the viewings. All screenings are free and open to the public.

The series will conclude with “Kokowaah” on Feb. 23.

The film series is sponsored by the Wartburg College German Institute and organized by the German and German studies programs.
