A Wartburg College German-language film series continues Tuesday, Jan. 26, with a showing of “Sophie Scholl.”

The film, which will be screened with English subtitles, begins at 7:15 p.m. in Whitehouse Business Center Room 116. It is the second of four that will be shown as part of the “Crossing Boundaries with German Film” series.

“Sophie Scholl” follows Sophie and other members of the White Rose student resistant movement in Hitler’s Germany, including their courageous opposition to forces threatening Germany’s freedoms.

Students will introduce the film and lead a discussion following the viewing.

The series continues with “Almanya” on Feb. 9 and “Kokowaah” on Feb. 23. All screenings are free and open to the public.

The film series is sponsored by the Wartburg College German Institute and organized by the German and German studies programs.
