A Waterloo Center for the Arts curator is now featured in his own show in Wartburg College’s Waldemar A. Schmidt Art Gallery.

Chawne Paige’s “B|W+MOD” will run through Friday, Dec. 18. A reception featuring a gallery talk by Paige and performance by Stoundd will be Friday, Nov. 20, 7-9 p.m.

While Paige limited his color palette to varying shades of gray in the “B|W” series, the new “+MOD” series allowed the artist to utilize new materials and colors.

“Many of the works in this series were once whole and deliberately cut up, modified and juxtaposed with other fragmented paintings,” Paige said. “This process gives way for exploring the sometimes jarring or delicate nuances of visual relationships on a macro and micro level.”

Paige, who has been designing since 1996, has a passion for typography and graphic design and is involved with public art, exhibitions, digital arts education and arts advocacy.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. The gallery, in Bachman Fine Arts Center, is open daily 9 a.m.-7 p.m. daily.
