Wartburg Women will hold its annual fall brunch at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, in the Castle Room in Saemann Student Center.

 

Anne Duncan, Wartburg’s sustainability coordinator, will present on the college becoming Iowa’s first private institution to earn a Gold rating under the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.

 

Wartburg Women funds scholarships by filling more than 300 annual orders of baked goods and fruit baskets for Wartburg students. In its 74-year history, the organization has contributed more than $123,000 in scholarships. It also funds an endowed scholarship that last year awarded $1,000.

 

Wartburg Women offers social opportunities including potlucks, book reviews, luncheons and family outings.

 

Officers for 2015-2016 are Marcia Haugen, president; Barb Piel, vice president; Meredith Keelan, secretary; and Marnie Hubbard, treasurer. All are from Waverly.
