The Accel Group has committed $30,000 to Wartburg College’s Transforming Tomorrow comprehensive campaign.

The gift is part of the campaign’s $5 million Waverly Community Appeal, which continues through May. Local donors have pledged $4.5 million to date. The Accel Group’s president Mike Byl and his wife, Darcy, co-chair the community appeal along with Dave and Peggy Rathe and Lindley and Joanne Jones.

Formed in 2010, The Accel Group is a Waverly-based agency of specialists who work with entrepreneurs, executives and individuals to provide integrated business partnerships for business insurance, employee benefits, retirement plans, wealth management and home, auto and agribusiness insurance.

“This gift to Wartburg’s Transforming Tomorrow campaign shows not only the importance The Accel Group places on supporting its clients, but also the community in which they live and the significant role Wartburg plays in the community,” Dave Rathe said.

The $75 Transforming Tomorrow campaign includes $37 million for scholarships, $14 million for infrastructure and technology improvements, $16 million for academic and support programs and $8 million for the annual fund.

“The Accel Group has a long-standing relationship with Wartburg College,” Mike Byl said. “We are glad for the opportunity to contribute to this important campaign and assist Wartburg College in transforming tomorrow.”
