Two Wartburg College student organizations will host the Dash of Color 5K Run/Walk Sunday, May 3, at 2 p.m., on campus.

Participants are encouraged to wear white clothing, as they will be doused in bright, powdered paint at five stations along the route, which starts at Walston-Hoover Stadium. Those interested may register and view the route at www.wartburg.edu/dashofcolor. Advance registration is $25 though April 10 and $30 thereafter. Day-of registration is $35 (cash or check only). Registration includes a T-shirt, as well as bananas and water at the finish line.

The second-year event is put on by Tower Agency—Wartburg’s student-run public relations organization—and the college’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. Proceeds also will benefit organizations from the college assisting with the event: Water to Thrive, Wartburg Dance Team, the Duh-Versity Knights hip-hop dance team and the International Club.

“PRSSA and Tower Agency are working to make this successful event better than before,” said Elizabeth Heying, co-CEO of Tower Agency and PRSSA vice president. “We listened to participants’ suggestions from last year, and our goal is to give participants a day full of color and fun they can enjoy with friends and family.”

In case of inclement weather, the event will be held Saturday, May 9, at 3 p.m.
