Knightliters’ spring jazz concert will be Friday, April 10

The Wartburg College Knightliters Jazz Band will perform its spring concert Friday, April 10, at 8:30 p.m., in McCaskey Lyceum in Saemann Student Center.

 

“I always look forward to the final concert of the year because the band has always played its best performance of the year at this concert,” said Allan Jacobson, senior lecturer in music and Knightliters conductor.

 

The performance will include “James” by Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays and “Tow Away Zone” by Thad Jones.

 

“I hope the audience will enjoy an atmosphere of excitement and appreciation for a true American art form,” said Jacobson.

 

The free concert immediately follows the Symphonic Band Concert in Neumann Auditorium.

The College and Black Student Union partnered to bring Rodney Lewis of Rodney's Kitchen in Waterloo to campus to prepare a traditional Black meal for dinner in Mensa as part of the College and organization's celebration of Black History Month, as reported by the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier. 

Maribel Lopez ’10 has been named the head of PBS Digital Studios, where she will oversee the station's efforts to further drive content delivery and audience development across multiple digital platforms.
