An exhibition featuring the work of artist Angela Waseskuk will open Monday, Feb. 23, at Wartburg College’s Waldemar A. Schmidt Gallery.

“All the Good in the End,” featuring pieces that transform the ordinary into objects worthy of prolonged contemplation, will be on display through April 1. A reception will be Wednesday, March 25, 7-9 p.m.

Waseskuk earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and studied at the Yale Summer School of Art.

Currently the foundations coordinator and an adjunct instructor of art at the University of Northern Iowa, she uses common items, including chewed gum, construction paper dots, grocery bags and yarn to describe and capture the language of life.

“In a time when artists are often told, ‘It’s all been done before,’ it is important to acknowledge that we are all making work in response to the activity and chatter of our environment, and, although mundane on its surface, it is always a brand new world,” Waseskuk said.

The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. The gallery, in Bachman Fine Arts Center, is open 9 a.m.-7 p.m. daily.
