A brass quintet of Wartburg College music instructors will debut at a recital Tuesday, Feb. 3, 6:30 p.m., in Sandra Rada Orchestra Hall of Bachman Fine Arts Center.

The recital, which is free and open to the public, features six selections from the 16th through 20th centuries, including Bach’s “Contrapunctus I” from “The Art of Fugue.”

The Faculty Brass Quintet comprises Scott Muntefering and Jim Vaux on trumpet, Andy Harris on horn, Bard Mackey on trombone and Richard Scheffel on tuba.

Group members aim to demonstrate to their students how a professional brass chamber group should sound, said Muntefering, the Eugene and Ruth Weidler Drape Distinguished Professor in Music Education and director of the Wartburg Symphonic Band.
