Four volumes of “The Saint John’s Bible” are on display through Dec. 17 as part of the Wartburg Community Festival of Trees.

Handwritten and illuminated, “The Saint John’s Bible” was commissioned by Saint John’s Abbey and University and created by renowned calligrapher Donald Jackson. Four of its seven volumes — The Pentateuch, Gospel and Acts, Wisdom Books and Letters and Revelation — along with numerous decorated trees, are on display 7 a.m.-10 p.m. in the Wartburg College Classroom Technology Center.

The cases will be opened for the public one hour prior to and one hour following each Christmas with Wartburg performance. The concerts begin at 3 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7. Tickets to the Saturday evening concert are still available at www.wartburg.edu/christmas or by calling the Ticket Office at 319-352-8691 Monday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m.

Jim Triggs, executive director of The Saint John’s Bible Heritage Program, will be available for informal conversation near the Bibles display prior to and following the Sunday afternoon performance. The public is welcome to visit during that time.

The Wartburg Community Festival of Trees features trees decorated by local businesses, community organizations and Wartburg College groups.
