International performer Heinrich Walther will give an organ concert Friday, Oct. 10, at Wartburg College. The free event will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Wartburg Chapel.

Walther teaches at music colleges in Freiburg, Heidelberg and Rottenburg, Germany, and is organist at Saint Matthieu Church, a 14th century landmark in Colmar, France. He has transcribed and performed orchestral works by Mozart, Schubert and Mendelssohn, given several first performances of modern organ compositions and recorded works for broadcast in several countries.

The concert will include selections by Hungarian composer Franz Liszt and three composers from northern Spain’s Basque Country: José María Usandizaga, Jesús Guridi and Ignacio Busca de Sagastizábal.
