Chris Nelson, director of music ministries and organist at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, will be the guest artist at Wartburg College’s “Bach’s Lunch” Friday, Feb. 7.

Nelson’s performance at 12:30 p.m. in the Wartburg Chapel will be preceded by a noon lunch and explanation of the program in Chapel Commons.

Nelson will perform selections by Johannes Sebastian Bach.

Along with his positions at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Nelson serves as dean of the Blackhawk Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and is a member of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians. His prior positions include minister of music at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Wayne, Ind., and member of the National Organ Playing Competition.

After earning his Bachelor of Arts in music from Bethany College, Nelson attained his Master of Sacred Music degree at Luther Seminary, which is in conjunction with St. Olaf College.
