Five French movies will be shown on a weekly basis during the Tournées Film Festival at Wartburg College beginning Monday, Jan. 27.

Wartburg’s French department is hosting the movies as part of the French American Cultural Exchange. The films span generational and geographic borders and a variety of genres and subjects, showcase innovations in style and storytelling, and are the works of both first-time directors and those revered in French cinema.

The other dates for the movies are Feb. 4, 10, 18 and 26 — all at 6 p.m. in Whitehouse Business Center Room 116. The titles of the movies will be available on the Wartburg French Club page on Facebook. The movies have English subtitles and are free and open to the public.

The Tournées Festival is made possible with the support of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the U.S. and the Centre National de la Cinématographie et de l’Image Animée, the Florence Gould Foundation, Campus France USA, and highbrow entertainment.
