How rock ’n’ roll took the country by storm will be featured during Wartburg College’s “America’s Music” series Thursday, Oct. 10.

The Emmy-nominated “History of Rock ‘n’ Roll” will be shown during the 6:30-8:30 p.m. session at the Waverly Public Library. Legends such as Bruce Springsteen, Judi Collins, Jimi Hendrix and the Beach Boys are featured. A rare meeting between Bob Dylan and The Beatles is also highlighted. The film is free and open to the public.

A discussion led by Dr. Geoffrey Wilson, Wartburg lecturer in music, will follow.

The six-week “America’s Music” series runs consecutive Thursdays until Oct. 17.

For more information about the series, a project of the Tribeca Film Institute in collaboration with the America Library Association, Tribeca Flashpoint and the Society for American Music, go to http://library.wartburg.edu/americasmusic.aspx.
