Season tickets for the 2013-14 Wartburg College Artist Series go on sale Monday, July 15. 

The gravity-defying Kenya Safari Acrobats will lead off the series, followed by the improvisational musical “Broadway’s Next H!t Musical,” then an homage to ’60s and ’70s music in “They Called it Rock,” and Branson headliners The Texas Tenors including Waverly’s own John Hagen. 

Season tickets range from $76 to $108 for adults — a nearly 20 percent savings compared to individual performance prices. Student tickets (K-12) are $10 per performance. Guests can also purchase up to two $2 youth tickets (12 years and younger) for every adult ticket purchased to the Kenya Safari Acrobats.

The Kenya Safari Acrobats kick off the series on Saturday, Oct. 5, with a unique cultural experience for the whole family. The dynamic dance troupe will awe the audience with gravity-defying human pyramids, balancing, tumbling and breathtaking contortions they learned on the beaches of Kenya. 

“Broadway’s Next H!t Musical” on Tuesday, Jan. 28, lets you be part of the show. The unscripted two-act musical comedy features six improv superstars and a trio of pianists who take the audience’s suggestions and turn them into a brand new show every night.  The first act spotlights songs from four “Best Musical” nominees based on audience-suggested titles. Guests are then treated to the full “award-winning” musical based on the winner from the first half of the show. 

Music icons Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie and Elton John set the stage for “They Called it Rock” on Thursday, Feb. 20. The show is set in 1978 in a place where rock music is still considered “defiant and dangerous.” Eight dancers put this legendary music in motion in a fusion of contemporary, jazz and Latin dance — against a backdrop of high-definition video imagery. 

The Texas Tenors return to the Wartburg campus Monday, March 24, and Tuesday, March 25. The trio won international renown on NBC’s America’s Got Talent where their eclectic mix of country, gospel, classical and Broadway music made them its highest-ranking vocal group. The Texas Tenors mix breathtaking vocals, humor and a healthy dose of cowboy charm to entertain audiences worldwide. 

All performances are in Neumann Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. with buffet dinners available beforehand. Dinner tickets are $18.75 per person and include dinner and a glass of wine.
