Two Wartburg College graduates are recipients of the Iowa State University Foundation’s Order of the Knoll Cardinal and Gold Award.

Lora ’71 and Russ ’69 Talbot of Belmond were recognized for their philanthropy at the foundation’s Distinguished Awards Celebration April 19.

The Talbots established the Russell G. and Lora L. Talbot Scholars in Veterinary Medicine, which annually provides four-year scholarships to six students; made a lead gift to the College of Veterinary Medicine’s $1 million Kresge Foundation Challenge Grant, and have aided construction of the Dr. W. Eugene and Linda Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center and the Hixson-Lied Small Animal Hospital.

Lora earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Wartburg, while Russell earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration. The Talbots also have endowed scholarships at Wartburg.
