Wartburg College’s St. Elizabeth Chorale will commemorate Women’s History Month in a concert Tuesday, March 26.

The 70-member women’s chorus will perform at 6:30 p.m. in Neumann Auditorium under the direction of Dr. Jane Andrews, professor of music.

The concert will celebrate the music of Amy Beach, one of America’ earliest recognized master composers. Featured soloists include pianist Dr. Suzanne Torkelson and vocalists Dr. Jennifer Larson, and Dr. Elisabeth Bieber, all of the Wartburg music department, along with the Wartburg Chamber Orchestra and guest violin soloist Shawn Murphy.

The Iowa City High Select Women’s Choir, under the direction of Dr. Greg Grove, will perform two numbers and join the St. Elizabeth Chorale for “Stabat Mater” by Pergolesi.

“This concert has something for everyone. Actually, everything but the kitchen sink,” Andrews said.

Admission is free to students and a suggested $5 donation for adults. Call the Wartburg College Music Office at 319-352-8300 for more information.
