Artists wanted — The Waverly Art Walk is seeking artists for its eighth annual juried fine arts and crafts show Saturday, May 4, in Kohlmann Park. Eligible entries must be completely original and designed and created by the artist. Two-dimensional media include oils, acrylics, watercolors, and other painting or drawing media, photography, relief, intaglio or silkscreen prints and giclée prints. Three-dimensional media includes ceramics, jewelry, fiber, wood, glass, paper, basketry, cast iron, wrought iron, plaster and other sculpture materials. Applications are at www.waverlyartwalk.com. The deadline is March 22. Late applications will be considered depending on space availability. Cash prizes are awarded during the event’s jury process. Homeowners conservation program — The Bremer Extension and the City of Waverly will present a free Urban Homeowners Conservation  programThursday, March 14, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the Waverly Civic Center.  The topics and speakers are:

  • “Home Energy Audits and Conservation,”  Curt Atkins, Waverly Power and Light
  • “Our Role in Protecting Our Water Supply,”  Brian Sullivan, Waverly Public Services Superintendent
  • “Gardening for Fun Health, and Nutrition,”  Ron Lenth, Bremer ISU Extension
