U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley and filmmaker Scott Siepker will discuss the intersection of politics and social media at Wartburg College Tuesday, Feb. 19.

“Being Iowa Nice: A Conversation with Congressman Bruce Braley and Filmmaker Scott Siepker” will be presented in Whitehouse Business Center 214 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Siepker’s “Iowa Nice” video became an Internet sensation when it was released on the eve of the 2012 Iowa Caucuses and has had more than one million views on YouTube.  The audience will be able to ask questions at the conclusion of the program.

Braley has represented the 1st Congressional District since 2007. The Waterloo Democrat recently announced his intention to seek the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Tom Harkin in 2014.

Siepker, a Mount Carmel native, is an actor, producer, writer and host of the Emmy-nominated “Iowa Outdoors” on IPTV. He will spend that afternoon meeting with Wartburg students, faculty and staff. More information about him is available at www.scottsiepker.com.
