• St. Paul’s School Carnival (Feb. 8, 4-7pm) — Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, staffing game stations, serving food, etc. The St. Paul’s School Carnival is an annual family friendly event. 
  • Childcare assistant — Childcare assistants and/or substitute for in-home child care. Substitute and assistants must pass a DHS background check. Substitutes must also be CPR and 1st Aid certified; but the organization can help reimburse the cost of classes if they are needed. 
  • Advent Preparations — Kristin Ruyle, Director of Discipleship at Trinity United Methodist, is requesting a volunteer to help with Advent preparations. It is only a 2-3 hour time commitment. Your work would include making copies, organizing, etc. nothing too difficult. If you are interested in taking up this opportunity or would like more information feel free to contact Gail Sexton, Coordinator of Church Relations and Faith Community Outreach.   • Church Directory Updates — The Faith Lutheran Church is looking for someone to work with lifetouch to help organize, set up and follow through on a pictorial directory. They would also need you to help them redo their monthly newsletter, transfer word perfect documents into Word and lastly update their member list. I know this sounds like a lot but you have time to do it as the project only needs to be completed by the end of January. The project location is about 5 miles away from Wartburg but don’t worry, transport is available. If you are interested in doing this please contact Pastor Kim Smith at msmith@salamander.com  or 319 885-47547
  • Working with Elderly — There is an ongoing need for volunteers from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturdays at Bartels. They would like to have a few volunteers to come give manicures to the residents.  If you are interested please contact the VAC at vac@wartburg.edu.
  • Artists Needed — Feeling Creative? Big Brothers Big Sisters needs you!  They are hosting a 50th birthday party for BBBS in late January or February and are looking for local artists who may be interested in creating caricature drawings of our Bigs (mentors) and Littles (mentees), and face paint. Interested?   • Help with Monday night Ministry — Heartland Vineyard Church is looking for some volunteers to help with their Monday night ministry. The next meeting is Monday, Dec. 10, 5:45-8:30 p.m. Basically volunteers would help serve a meal to and play with the young kids while their mothers are at the adult ministry. They are expecting a big crowd, so they would like as many volunteers as possible! Let us know ASAP if you are interested and/or available to help!
