The public is invited to the annual Wartburg College Advent/Christmas Vespers Service on Sunday, Dec. 9, in the Wartburg Chapel.

Familiar carols, candlelight, and a rich variety of music will highlight the annual service. Preludial music by student groups and soloists will begin at 6:30 p.m. The Service of Vespers will begin at 7 p.m. It ends with the lighting of candles and singing of “Silent Night” in English, French, Spanish and German.

Wartburg’s Chapel Choir, Psalm 149 dance group, Flute Choir, and Handbell Ensemble will participate in the service. Scripture readings will focus on the Christmas story with a homily by Pastor Ramona Bouzard, dean of the chapel and Moehlmann Chaplaincy Chair. Pastor Brian Beckstrom, campus pastor, will lead worship.
