The Wartburg Bookstore will hold a Christmas open house on Thursday, Nov. 29, 5-8 p.m., with a visit by Santa Claus and holiday treats served.

New apparel and gift items will be offered, including products from the Women’s Bean Project, an organization that helps women in poverty get job skills and become re-educated. Those products include a 10-bean soup mix, hot chili soup, cornbread mix, fudge mix and jewelry.

Each product is personalized, unique and with the signature of the woman who made it.

The adult and children’s books sections have been expanded significantly. Unique Wartburg Christmas ornaments and other Wartburg-related gifts are available as well.

All visitors to the open house will have an opportunity to take their photo taken with Santa Claus and receive a digital version.

The Wartburg Bookstore in Saemann Student Center is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. It will be open Thursdays until 8 p.m. after Thanksgiving until Christmas. Call 352-8227 for more information.
