Burmeister will be guest artist at ‘Bach’s Lunch’ Friday, Nov. 16

Dr. Aaron Burmeister, who has given numerous organ recitals in the Upper Midwest, will perform at Wartburg College’s monthly “Bach’s Lunch” Friday, Nov. 16.
The program will begin with insights by Burmesiter into Bach’s compositions at the noon lunch in the Chapel Commons. A 30-minute recital featuring Burmeister will follow in the Wartburg Chapel.
“Dr. Burmeister is thrilled to be sharing the organ music of J.S. Bach with other Bach fans,” said Dr. Karen Black, the Rudi Inselmann Endowed Professor in Organ at Wartburg.
Burmeister, an adjunct professor at Luther College, has been an associate instructor of music theory at the Indiana University School of Music and professor of music at Bethany Lutheran College.
He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Lawrence University and master and doctoral degrees of music from the Indiana University School of Music.
Attendees are invited to bring a lunch or order one from Wartburg’s Den-Rittersaal by Wednesday by contacting Marcia Haugen, music department office coordinator, at marcia.haugen@wartburg.edu or 352-8300.
