A multimedia exhibit, “Garden in the Sky,” by Fayette artist John Siblik will open at Wartburg College’s Waldemar A. Schmidt Gallery on Friday, Oct. 26.

Siblik intertwines different forms of media — drawing, painting, prints and sculpture —  while addressing relationships among community, individualism, environment and different materials. He implements both history and culture in his work.

He has exhibited throughout the United States. His work is in private and public collections in China, England and the United States.

Siblik has taught studio art and art history at Upper Iowa University since 2002. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in art education from Northern Illinois University and his Master of Fine Arts degree from Southern Illinois University.

The gallery is open weekdays, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. or by appointment. The exhibit runs through Dec. 7. Admission is free. A reception for Siblik will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, in the gallery.
