Cedar Falls ‘Practical Backyard Tour’ stresses sustainability

The University of Northern Iowa’s Center for Energy & Environmental Education and Green Iowa AmeriCorps are cosponsoring “A Practical Backyard Tour,” Sunday, June 10, 2-5 p.m., at five locations. The backyards are creative examples of sustainability that save money and energy with composting, vertical gardens and more. The tour cost is $5 per group, which goes to supporting AmeriCorps volunteer work. The College and Black Student Union partnered to bring Rodney Lewis of Rodney's Kitchen in Waterloo to campus to prepare a traditional Black meal for dinner in Mensa as part of the College and organization's celebration of Black History Month, as reported by the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier. 

Maribel Lopez ’10 has been named the head of PBS Digital Studios, where she will oversee the station's efforts to further drive content delivery and audience development across multiple digital platforms.
