Slife Institute for Social Work Consultation, Research & Training
Conceptualized in 2008 and formally recognized in November, 2012, the Slife Institute provides training, consultation, and other technical support to social service agencies and organizations in Iowa and across the United States. Coordinated by the Tomson Family Distinguished Professor in Social Work, the work of the Institute not only strengthen vital connections with the human services network, but also provides valuable opportunities for service, scholarship, and professional development to faculty and students.
Supported through a leadership gift from Jack ’82 and Sarah Slife ’82 Salzwedel, the Institute honors the late Harry and Polly Slife, recognizing Harry’s work as chair of the Wartburg Board of Regents and the couple’s long-time leadership and involvement in the Cedar Valley community.
