What I Do: Higher education holds a special place in my heart because it was such a transformative and formative period in my life. Throughout my time in college, I encountered experiences that challenged me deeply as well as moments that remain some of my happiest memories of my life. During those highs and lows, I was fortunate to have amazing humans around me. Among these humans I had dedicated campus professionals who supported me, encouraged me, and helped me grow. I vividly remember sitting in my adviser’s office and asking, “What do I need to major in to do what you do for a living?” These interactions shaped me into the human I am today. They taught me how to advocate for myself and how to take ownership of my habits and choices to build a better future. I strive every day to support and inspire students in the same way that my college mentors supported and inspired me.
I serve as the Castle Connections Director, where I support students throughout their entire Wartburg experience. This program offers an early move-in experience, individualized guidance and provides meaningful connection with myself and their cohort of peers from their first year through graduation. I also oversee our Supplemental Instruction program. I provide guidance to our SI leaders as they facilitate sessions and support students in their host courses.
Overall, the largest (and my favorite) part of my role is working one-on-one with students, helping them navigate their academic goals, challenges, and everything in between. I am passionate about student development and relationship-building, and I value the opportunity to walk alongside students as they discover their strengths, overcome obstacles, and pursue their aspirations.
About Me: Outside of work, I love teaching and taking workout classes, exploring new coffee shops, getting lost in a good book, coaching middle school volleyball, and saying “yes” to just about any spontaneous trip. If you ever need to find a cheap flight, I’m your girl!
