International and Comparative Education
Recruitment Area: I work with students living outside of the United States.
Fun Fact About Me: I lived in Poland for two years as an English teaching assistant with the Fulbright Program. I enjoyed teaching university courses, exploring new areas, learning more about Poland, and sharing more about the U.S. at my local university and neighboring elementary and high schools.
Favorite book: “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane” by Kate DiCamillo.
Favorite quote from the book: “‘Perhaps,’ said the man, ‘you would like to be lost with us. I have found it much more agreeable to be lost in the company of others.’” I like this quote because I believe it can be relevant anytime, but especially in college. Sometimes you don’t know what you want to do in the future. You might feel lost, but there are plenty of classmates who are experiencing the same thing and plenty of faculty and staff surrounding you at Wartburg who can help you. Many students change their major or have different experiences on campus that may help them find what they are looking for!
Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy going to farmers markets, county fairs, the Iowa State fair, and camping.
What do you enjoy most about Wartburg: The people and the size of campus. I like being able to walk to one side of campus and usually run into someone I know. I also love the tradition and excitement of Outfly!
