Educational Partners in Covenant (EPIC) Enrollment Form

This is a one-time procedure. With this completed form, our congregation and Wartburg College enter into covenant as joint members of the Education Partners in Covenant (EPIC) program. We understand that although we do not need to re-enroll each year, a Participation Form must be completed and returned when the church is providing money for students attending Wartburg. We also understand that the students must be members of our congregation to be eligible for the match.

EPIC is a partnership between Wartburg College and Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA)congregations. Wartburg agrees to match every dollar, up to $750 per year of your congregation’s EPIC award for a maximum of eight eligible semesters. Wartburg requires the church to submit its congregational support by check directly to the Financial Aid Office at Wartburg College to receive the EPIC match.

EPIC is a program for ELCA congregations to support students attending Wartburg. EPIC is not intended as a means of diverting family tuition payments through congregations in order to receive personal tax benefit. This is a violation of tax law that can jeopardize non-profit status for both Wartburg and the church. Wartburg reserves the right to refuse matching EPIC funds if the program issued improperly.

Both the yearly congregational award and Wartburg’s match are divided equally between semesters. Although we will accept funds at any time prior to the end of the current academic year, payment received by September 1 for fall semester and January 1 for spring semester will maintain the student’s account in good standing.
