Wartburg College’s St. Elizabeth Chorale will present its annual spring concert Sunday, March 20.
The 2 p.m concert in Wartburg Chapel will feature “Sing Creations Music On” by Stephen Paulus, “Lullaby” from “Three Nocturnes” by Daniel Elder and “Walk Together Children” by Stacey Gibbs. The ensemble also will sing “Tota pulchra es” from “Quatre Motets sur des thèmes grégoriens” by Maurice Duruflé among other selections.
“The women of St. Elizabeth have prepared a program of a variety of music from Latin sacred music to French folksong to contemporary a cappella with body percussion,” said Karen Black, ensemble director and Wartburg professor. “They are really looking forward to sharing this music with the Wartburg and Waverly community.”
The 60-voice women’s choir performs a variety of treble literature from different historical periods in music.
The concert will be followed by a 4 p.m. Ritterchor performance, also in Wartburg Chapel.
