Hungry, but don’t want to wait in line for food at a campus restaurant?

Away from your computer, so you don’t believe you can order ahead on Webfood?

Well, just reach for your smartphone.

Thanks to a new service being tested at Wartburg College you can “go mobile” and order food 20 minutes or more in advance at the Den-Rittersaal, Konditorei or Zesty Orange.

“Wartburg College has been a testing site for Webfood Mobile,” said Margaret Empie, dining services director. “Wartburg is the top user of Webfood in the country with more than 400 orders per day.”

With the Webfood system, users establish an account online at https://wartburg.webfood.com/, which includes pre-payment . When arriving at the restaurant, you can pick up your order and bypass the cash register.

Orders can include regular menu items and even whole cheesecakes or cookie dough to bake at home. Students with a board plan can use it to order a meal transfer.

However, the process requires first using a computer to select favorite items. The Webfood site is at https://wartburg.webfood.com/m. Or you can scan the QR code at left.

Once the “Webfood mobile favorites” logo comes up, log in using your Webfood password, then select the items from your favorites. Your order will be ready at the time you selected.
