Keep on Learning will focus on Shakespeare in love and war
March 23, 2012
The wit and wisdom of William Shakespeare will be explored in Keep on Learning at Wartburg College, beginning Thursday, March 29.
Anita Ross, who directs the Waterloo Community Playhouse/Black Hawk Children’s Theatre and also serves as its education director, will delve into “In Love (and War) with Shakespeare” on Thursday mornings March 29, April 5, 19 and 26.
The course will focus on four comedies — “Much Ado About Nothing,” “Love’s Labours Lost,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” and “Twelfth Night.” Participants will read, watch and play with Shakespeare’s romantic imagery and flirtatious double entendre.
Ross has worked with the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and performed poetry with a touring theatre company. She earned her bachelor’s degree and Master of Fine Arts degree in theatre from Purdue University and a Master of Library Science degree from Indiana University.
The Keep on Learning sessions in the Heritage Room of Saemann Student Center begin with coffee at 9 a.m., followed by the presentation from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Parking is available near Saemann Student Center for those entering campus on Wartburg Boulevard.
Pre-registration is not required, and a $30 fee is payable at the second class.
