Wartburg Players to present ‘Peter/Wendy’ on Nov. 12-13
November 11, 2021

Wartburg Players, a student-run theater organization at Wartburg College, will present “Peter/Wendy” on Nov. 12 and 13.
The shows begin nightly at 7:30 p.m. in McCaskey Lyceum. Tickets are $10 for community members and free for students with a Wartburg ID. They will be available at the door.
This interpretation of “Peter Pan” offers a low-tech, inventive adaptation that pays homage to the darker themes of J.M. Barrie’s original.
“This is a darker take on ‘Peter Pan.’ It’s more gritty but a really fun show with a lot of heartfelt moments and comedy,” said Hanna Wolke, student director and a junior secondary education and English major. “We’ve had a lot of shows with human characters in recent years, so getting to do something with a little fantasy is a little fun.”
Wolke said there will be a few musical elements in the show, including some “fun sea shanties.”
“It’s going to be a good time for the whole family,” she said.
