The Wartburg College Board of Regents is announcing two new members.

Felecia Boone, a 1993 graduate from Minneapolis, Minn., and Jim Buchheim, a 1985 graduate from De Forest, Wis., were each elected to a three-year term.Boone, a consultant for the Hennepin County Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Division in Minnesota, supports the operations and public works lines of business and delivers countywide training in continuous improvement, customer service, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement and workforce development.

She also is the administrator of the county’s Diversity Leadership Mentoring Program.Outside of work, Boone is involved with the Minneapolis Area Synod of the ELCA as vice president, is a member of the ELCA Multicultural Leadership Event 2021 core team, and serves as the chair of the Crossroads Community Organization, a nonprofit that seeks to enhance the quality of life for children and adults in south Minneapolis.

As the community and social impact officer at American Family Insurance, Buchheim leads the American Family Institute for Corporate and Social Impact (The Institute) and the American Family Dreams Foundation. He also oversees partnerships with major sports teams and the American Family Insurance Championship, a PGA Tour Champions golf event that has raised more than $10 million in its first five years. The Institute includes a $50 million venture capital fund that invests in social start-ups focused on societal improvements in education, healthy youth development and climate resilience.

Buchheim serves on several local boards, including the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County, where he chairs the marketing committee and serves on the executive committee; the Wisconsin Education Business Roundtable; and Competitive Wisconsin, Inc. He also serves on the Development Advisory Board of American Family Children’s Hospital; he served as Board Chair from 2018 to 2020. He is the father of Jacob, a 2019 Wartburg graduate, and Alex, a senior at Wartburg.

The Wartburg Board of Regents works with the president to provide fiduciary leadership for the college and is guided by the mission of the institution.
