Award-winning organist David Lim will be the guest artist at the first “Bach’s Lunch” organ series of the 2016-17 season Friday, Sept. 16, at Wartburg College.

The concert will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Wartburg Chapel. The recital will be preceded by a noon lunch and explanation of the program in Chapel Commons.

Lim will perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Allein Gott in der Höh sei Ehr, BWV 676,” Franz Liszt’s “Prelude and Fugue on B.A.C.H.” and Nicolaus Bruhns’ “Praeludium in E Minor,” also known as “The Great.”

Lim is pursuing a master’s degree in organ performance from the University of Iowa. He earned a bachelor’s degree in music and biology from Gustavus Adolphus CollegeHis primary teachers include Gregory Hand, Chad Winterfeldt, Chad Fothergill and Jon Naatjes.

He serves as the chair of the North Central Region of the American Guild of Organists Young Organists and was the winner of the 2014 Immanuel Lutheran Church (Evanston, Ill.) Organ Scholar Award.
