The Wartburg-Waverly Sports and Wellness Center (The W) is sponsoring its fifth annual TriByKnight Triathlon Saturday, May 7.
The sprint event, which includes an indoor 300-yard swim, a 15-mile bike ride and a 5K run, begins at 9 a.m. in The W’s Schuldt Natatorium. It is a USA Triathlon-sanctioned event.
Registration is being accepted at www.active.com. Additional information also is available at the-w.org. Individual registration is $75, but will increase to $85 May 1. Team options also are available.
“The TriByKnight Triathlon is one of very few early-season races in the Midwest with an indoor swim and outdoor bike and run,” said Carrie Tysdahl, one of the race directors. “It is an excellent opportunity for beginners to experience a triathlon without the added challenge of an open water swim and also a great way for seasoned triathletes to get an early season race in and earn USAT points and/or qualify for age-group nationals.”
Additional sponsors include Scheels, The Fainting Goat and Roling Ford in Shell Rock.
