A duo of Cedar Valley music professors will perform “Romantic Music for Clarinet” on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Wartburg College .

Eric Wachmann, professor of music at Wartburg, and Sean Botkin, associate professor of piano at the University of Northern Iowa, will be the featured performers at the concert, which begins at 6:30 p.m. in Orchestra Hall in Bachman Fine Arts Center.

The program will include three pieces for clarinet and piano, including Johannes Brahms’ “Clarinet Sonatas Op. 120 Nos. 1 and 2” and Carl von Weber’s “Grand Duo Concertante.”

“The sonatas by Brahms are perhaps the two most well-known, romantic works for clarinet and piano. Performing these pieces along with Weber’s ‘Grand Duo Concertante’ will be an amazing experience for the audience,” Wachmann said. “Rarely do you hear all of these pieces performed together in one concert.”
