Wartburg Players to present ‘The Dresser’
November 9, 2016
The show begins at 7:30 p.m. in McCaskey Lyceum in Saemann Student Center.
The readers theater version is based on Harwood’s experiences as dresser to Sir Donald Wolfit. The drama takes place backstage at a theater in the English provinces during World War II where Wolfit is preparing to go on stage as King Lear. Despite not knowing who and where he is supposed to be, he makes it on stage and through the performance, which, in the end, is his last.
