The band, under the direction of Scott Muntefering, will perform “Clouds that Sail in Heaven,” “El Relicario,” “Symphonic Episodes” and “Albanian Dance.” The concert is free and open to the public.
Guest conductor Bruce Gleason, a music education professor at the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn., will lead the band in “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing” and “Minnesota March.” The former euphonium player with the 298th U.S. Army Band of the Berlin Brigade also is the senior choir director at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and the artistic director-conductor of the Owatonna Symphony Orchestra.
Gleason’s appearance is made possible through the Eugene and Ruth Weidler Drape Distinguished Professorship. He will conduct an open rehearsal Thursday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m., in the Band Hall in Bachman Fine Arts Center.
