Lindner to serve as Wartburg’s Homecoming parade grand marshal
October 3, 2016
Lindner recently retired after 24 years as the face of the college’s Alumni & Parent Relations and Annual Giving Office, where she served as the office coordinator. Her strong work ethic, attention to detail and positive attitude endeared her to the thousands who visited or contacted the office every year.
“Jane knew many of our alumni and students by name and even developed relationships with many of them that continue today,” said Renee Voves, director of alumni and parent relations and annual giving.
Lindner played an especially important role in ensuring that the college’s annual Homecoming festivities went off without a hitch, processing an estimated 40,000 registrations over 24 years.
“It is fitting that we honor her at the annual event she has shepherded with wonderful dedication,” Voves said.
The parade begins at 10 a.m., traveling south on Fifth Street NW from the intersection with Fifth Avenue NW, then turning west on Bremer Avenue and finishing at the intersection of Bremer Avenue and 12th Street NW. Following the parade, all are invited to the Renaissance Faire on the Campus Mall and Lindner’s retirement open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in The W’s Hall of Fame Room. There will be a short program at 11:30.
