Wartburg College Suicide Awareness for Everyone (SAFE) is hosting a 5K color run and walk Saturday, May 14.

The “Stampede the Stigma 5K” will begin at 10 a.m. on the Wartburg campus with check-in beginning at 9 a.m. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, May 15, at 2 p.m. Registration will be available at the Wartburg-Waverly Sports & Wellness Center April 30 and May 1, between 1 and 4 p.m., or by emailing safe@wartburg.edu.

“Mental illness has no stereotype. It can affect anyone,” said senior Kaitlyn Behnken, SAFE president. “We want to raise awareness about this issue, help people realize mental illness is real and provide people the resources needed.”

Cost is $10 per person and includes a T-shirt for those who register before Wednesday, May 4.
