Several Wartburg College students were honored at the Associated Collegiate Press “Best of the Midwest” conference Jan. 30-31 in Minneapolis.

More than 230 entries from colleges in five states were submitted. Wartburg was competing against large schools such as the University of Minnesota, Iowa State University and North Dakota State University.

Wartburg students placed in the following categories: •Sports Commentary: Erica Dynes, the Trumpet (fourth place) •News Photo: Dynes, the Trumpet (fourth place) •Multimedia Package: Calyn Thompson, Knight Vision and the Trumpet (fifth place) •Single Page Design: Elizabeth Jewitt, the Trumpet (sixth place) •Weekly Newspaper (four-year school): the Trumpet (eighth place)
