Mike and Darcy Byl have committed $25,000 to Wartburg College’s Transforming Tomorrow comprehensive campaign.

The gift is part of the campaign’s $5 million Waverly Community Appeal which launched publicly March 22. To date, local donors have pledged $4.5 million to the effort. The Byls serve as co-chairs for the community appeal along with Dave and Peggy

Rathe and Lindley and Joanne Jones.

“We're grateful for Mike and Darcy's volunteer leadership of our Waverly Appeal as well as their generous personal support of the college,” said Scott Leisinger, Wartburg College vice president for institutional advancement. “They are strongly committed to the future of Waverly and understand the important role Wartburg plays in making our community so special.”

The $75 Transforming Tomorrow campaign includes $37 million for scholarships, $14 million for infrastructure and technology improvements, $16 million for academic and support programs and $8 million for the annual fund.

“We value the special relationship between the college and the Waverly community,” said Mike Byl. “Waverly is a stronger community because of Wartburg and Wartburg continues to be strengthened by the Waverly community. It is truly a win-win.”
