Three new five-week specialty classes at the Wartburg-Waverly Sports & Wellness Center will challenge participants to reach new levels of fitness.
Kick It 2 the Next Level (K2XL), Boot Camp and TRX Suspension Training all start the week of April 23.
“These classes are open to all area residents,” said Nilan Lansing, assistant director of group fitness. “Fees are lower for members of The W, but taking a class is a good way for nonmembers to try out the facility without committing to a monthly membership fee.”
K2XL incorporates kickboxing, metabolic conditioning and strength training, plus a weekly challenge designed to test all fitness levels. Classes meet Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 a.m.
Boot Camp involves plyometrics, running stairs, calisthenics, a nutritional program and pre- and post-camp measurements. Classes meet outdoors when possible from 5:30 to 6:30 a.m. Monday/Wednesday/Friday.
TRX Suspension Training is a body weight suspension program that develops strength and endurance while increasing flexibility. Tuesday/Thursday classes are offered at 5:30 a.m., 6:15 a.m. or 12:05 p.m. Monday/Wednesday/Friday classes meet at 5:30 a.m. or 12:05 p.m.
