What is a Vocation?
Your vocation is where your heart’s passion meets the world’s needs. Everyone has a vocation because everyone has gifts that can work to improve the world. We have many opportunities and resources here at Wartburg to help you find how your values, gifts, and passions can make a difference in others’ lives.
Discover Your Vocation
Step 1: Assess – Vocational discernment begins with YOU. These programs and tools can help you learn about your passions, values, interests and strengths that will play a part in your decision-making.
Step 2: Discern – Connect YOUR passions to the WORLD. These programs and offices can help you connect what you have learned about yourself to the world and to your life’s purpose. These opportunities will help you to see how you fit into the big picture.
Step 3: Plan – The planning process helps you connect where you are NOW to where you want to be in the FUTURE. These resources will assist you in learning how to communicate with others your skills and strengths and how you will be an asset to their organizations.
Step 4: Implement – GO FOR IT! The best way to know if an interest is a potential vocation is to try it out. Remember to take time to reflect on your experiences. Continue to use your resources even as a Wartburg alumna/us to help others find their vocations. The following resources will help you stay connected with the Wartburg community.
